Emilie and Warren are two of the sweetest people you have ever met. Their wedding day was filled with laughter and tears. Starting off at Brisbane’s Conrad Treasury, the service was heartfelt by all. When it was time to play, we headed off down the streets of Brisbane City, to the Botanic Gardens. The Bridal Party were having a ball! We ended up at the new Council bikes, which was a bit of a hoot. On Sundown, we made our way back to the Map Room at the Conrad for the party. Emilie and Warren, I feel honoured to be part of your special day. I wish you all the very best for a long and happy life together.

Bronze for Bernie
I thought I would enter the International Aperture Awards this year. I am not one to enter a great deal of awards, as the winning images have usually had so much Photoshop done to them, that it is all in the post production, and that is not my style. The Science and Nature category requires that images come straight out of the camera - hence no editing at all. So Bernie is an orangutan at the Singapore Zoo. I think he is a bit of a dude - we scored a bronze. More on Wedding Photography Brisbane

Hate having my photo taken!
If I had a dollar for every time that somebody told me that they did not like having their photo taken, I would be a very very rich woman. For Cory, having his photo taken is like having his teeth removed. Hence, I must say that I was a little nervous at this wedding. As much as I pride myself on being unobtrusive, there are parts of the day that require a certain degree of direction. We knew that these parts would be short and sweet! Well, I have to say Cory, that you did me proud. You stepped up and tolerated all that I threw at you. For that, I am truly grateful, and hopefully you will be too. The wedding of Shanelle and Cory touched my heart. This man is so fiercely in love with this woman, and he wanted the whole world to see it. There was not a dry eye in the house during the speeches (including mine). Thank you both for inviting me to be a part of your very special day. I wish you both all the very best.

Magic Butterflies
Jodie and Bryn are SO sweet! Jodie has these amazing dancing eyes and Bryn has the cheekiest of grins. Hence the wedding of Jodie and Bryn was nothing short of dreamy. The releasing of the butterflies was a highlight for me - so romantic. Following the service in the Garden Marque at Victoria Park, Jodie, Bryn and I headed off in the direction of fabulous light - as you do. We shot until the sunset and waited for dark to get the city images. Thanks to the Videographer from Timeless, who assisted with lighting. Best not forget Jodie’s mum, who played quite a part in the wedding - I have never seen a cake like that before!!!! Jodie and Bryn, I think I can safely assume you are having the time of your life on your 4 week adventure Honeymoon. I can’t wait to hear of your journey on your return. Take care x ……..lots of images!!! I hear you!! You try to pick a handful of images from 800 when they are all so gorgeous (the couple that is). Looks like the Couple Shoot sessions are paying off.

Wedding Photographer Brisbane - An Epic Adventure
OMG, what a day!! I take my hat off to Photographers who standardly shoot 14 hour weddings. This nearly killed me! Let’s start at the beginning. I met Helen (Helga) at my 20 year school reunion……yes, we went to school together, however, did not know each other back then. Helga and Peter (Eddo) have been together since school, and finally decided to get married. They have a house over on beautiful Moreton Island, hence it seemed fitting to get married over there. Helga and Eddo did the research to find that the 10.10 had been the driest day on Moreton Island for 60 years. They obtained a permit to be married up at the Cape, at the lighthouse - this has not been done before. Helga and Eddo had a mammoth task of arranging the logistics for their big day. A chartered Cat first thing in the morning, followed by buses to the Cape - too easy!…….until the gale force winds came along. Plan B swung into action on the morning of the wedding. A tour of the Island, with morning tea, followed by the service and reception at “The Beach House” Easy!…..until the buses got bogged. The guests made it back to the Beach House at 1pm, and the sandwiches were still MIA. Starving hungry, the bride’s arrival was stalled. Belly’s satisfied, the bride arrive and festivities began. Due to the horizontal rain, we were not able to do any location images. Not only was Eddo passionate about the Lighthouse, he was also passionate about his 50 year old Land Rover, which he had painted especially for the photos. The bride’s sister and I decided that we had to get the Land Rover down from the house to the reception. Permission granted, we jumped in a covered golf buggy, and drove to the house. Miranda and I donned our wet weather gear (no roof on the Land Rover) to take it down the hill. Hysterical!!!! It has been a very long time since I have nearly wet myself with laughter! Helen and Peter, thank you for an amazing day. You are such an inspiration - I admire you very much. At no time did you let the elements get you down. May you live a long and happy life together. See you when you get back from Tahiti. xx

Rain Rain Go Away! - Wedding Photographer Brisbane
Goodness me, this rain! I spent the afternoon with Hayley and Dennis at Roma Street Parklands. The service was moved under cover, then we had to move the family photos undercover. After all the formals, we braved the elements and headed out into the gardens. I have to tell you that this group of people were AMAZING. They traipsed around the place, no questions asked, did as they were told, with no whinging. At one point, all 10 of us were huddled under umbrellas under a bridge, trying to keep dry. Hilarious!!! Soaked to the bone, and with sloppy shoes, we headed back to the reception for a well earned drink! I want to thank you all for your compliance. You all did an amazing job. Hayley and Dennis, see you when you get back from your Honeymoon. Enjoy! More on Wedding Photographer Brisbane
